Why We Choose to Eat Organic: Truths from Nicaragua 
Nicole Sherwin will share experiences and insights from her time this past summer working on a film about farming in Nicaragua. She will talk about the effects that pesticide use has had on Nicaraguan banana and sugar cane farmers, bringing awareness to issues such as: the farmers plight for justice, the corrupt systems of industrialized agricultural business, and the horrific consequences that chemicals used during farming are having on people and the land. She will discuss her insights into the use of agro-chemicals as corporate chemical warfare - a subtle terrorism upon these populations that is creeping in to haunt generation after generation. A short teaser/trailer will be shown about the film.

$3 suggested donation at the door to go towards the Lower East Side Girls Club for event space.

The Recipe Raffle!
Bring either the recipe you used for your potluck dish or another favorite. Make sure to put your name on it, because a prize recipe will be drawn at the end of the evening.

What exactly is the Supper Club?
A potluck-style gathering created to bridge local communities, organizations, and initiatives through the sharing of food, fun, discussion, and education. Attendees are encouraged to bring vegetarian or vegan food and/or drink that is fresh, local, seasonal, and organic.
